As a teacher you have a great deal of power and influence over the student body, and you should use this to help improve the quality of student writing.

Louise Robinson-Lay‘s insight:

Prioritizing written skills allows students to achieve success, particularly important for senior students, many of whom will have to explain their ideas in writing to pass their end of year exams in order to achieve a score high enough to get into the course they want.
