While  I am fortunate enough to work in a school where the students and their families value education and encourage their children to strive for academic success there is still a need to motivate the boys to read. This post inspired me with some imaginative ways to do that. I especially like the idea of instagramming and the one about inviting families to join in.

one of our local bookstores does a wonderful thing where they wrap books in brown paper and just write a few words on the wrapping about the genres to tantalise readers. We could do something similar in our libraries to encourage a sense of anticipation and interest readers in books they haven’t yet encountered. 

We can do more to encourage a love of reading…..
