At reporting and marking time I always have to sit with the calculator to check percentages to make sure that the essay that I have marked a 76% and that is worth 30% of the mark for the Semester fits into my mark scheme. I now have a spreadsheet that does it for me thanks to a talented maths teacher but I do have trouble working out these things and remembering the formula. This website allows me to do this quickly and easily and if I were teaching Primary school or Middle Years Maths I would find it invaluable. It shows students a variety of ways to think about how percentages work by allowing them to arrive at their answer in different ways. I particularly like the definitions and explanations on the page and the ability to embed it into your own site.
Very clever work!

One Note app?
One Note is an amazing piece of software. In fact it might just well be the best thing that Microsoft has. It allows users to save clippings, documents, insert files, images, sound and URLs straight into a program that is incredibly user friendly.
One small problem so far has been the lack of support for the iPad. Well now there’s an app! http://www.appscout.com/2011/01/microsoft_releases_onenote_for.php
Great news!
….not if you live in Australia. Only US residents can get it at this point. Clearly the rest of the world does not work as well as Americans.
